The Jedi Enclave on Bespin is over a thousand years old, predating the construction of major settlements like Cloud City. It was abandoned, both by the Brotherhood of Darkness who constructed it, and the Altisian Jedi who sought refuge there during the waning years of the Galactic Republic. At a much lower altitude than Cloud City and Tibannopolis, the Enclave is currently located below the breathable layer of Bespin's atmosphere, making some areas of the Enclave inaccessible without special equipment.

It was recently discovered by Inyos Aamoran and Sadie K'Vesh, and is currently being used as a hide-out by The Exchange.

History

During the Republic Dark Ages, the Brotherhood of Darkness occupied and controlled Bespin, six centuries before Cloud City was first built. The purpose of the platform was unknown: theories range from a "sky fortress" to a training facility, or even a sky palace for a prominent Sith. Despite the nature of it's presumed architects, the platform relies mostly on conventional engineering, though technology that reacts to Force sensitivity is incorporated into certain security measures.

After being abandoned, it was rediscovered during the waning years of the Galactic Republic by Jedi Master Djinn Altis, the leader of a renegade faction of the Jedi Order who strayed slightly from the Order's teachings on the Force, still serving the Republic but not following the rulings of the Jedi High Council. The Altisian Jedi still followed the light side and most of the same philosophies, but with fewer restrictions and limitations, allowing Jedi to train multiple apprentices and raise families. The Altisian Jedi remained at the Enclave until the Clone Wars, but abandoned it after Order 66 was issued; because the Enclave was never known to the High Council, it was never discovered or sacked during the Jedi Purge.

The Enclave was rediscovered in 10 ABY by Inyos Aamoran, while exploring alternate philosophies on the Force. Choosing to remain on Bespin to study Altis' teachings further, Aamoran became associated with Emelie Shadowstar and the Exchange, grudgingly allowing them to make use of the Enclave as part of their morally and legally ambiguous activities. The Enclave is mostly used as a place to hide ships, persons, and contraband that the Exchange would prefer not be noticed by Cloud City customs. ("Not In Our Stars", "The Morning After")
