Under the command of Line Captain Soto Terius, the Destiny Battle Group is a flotilla within the Fourth Fleet. Responsible for hit and run operations and commerce raiding, the force has been involved in a number of engagements since the Liberation of Bothawui. Despite the presence of the Star Destroyer Horizon in the force, Terius' has his flag aboard the Destiny, preferring to "lead from the front" rather than "command from the rear".

Currently, the Novgorod, commanded by Captain Cirrsseeto Raurrssatta, operates as a detached element of this force.

History

After the Liberation of Bothawui, the Alliance Navy was restructured to allow for the creation of the Fifth Fleet to defend the Bothan Sector. This stretched the resources available to certain commands somewhat, and forced the Alliance to fall back on it's commerce raiding and hit-and-run tactics, rather than large-scale fleet combat. Fleet construction efforts were also put into overdrive, hoping to swiftly bolster the fleets.

One of the many units formed during this rearrangement was Task Force 42. Part of the Fourth Fleet assigned to defend the Sullustan Sector, the flotilla was based in in the midsts of Imperial activity in the southern quadrant of the Outer Rim: perfectly poised to raid convoys traversing the Rimma Trade Route towards Eriadu and Sluis Van, as well as worlds on the Hydian Way and the Corellian Trade Spine, such as Bespin.

With the assistance of the Novgorod, the Destiny flotilla launched a successful raid against an Imperial research post on Delrakkin. After the receipt of a distress call from Karallon, Terius dispatched the Novgorod to investigate; the flotilla later provided support during a space battle with the Ssi'ruuk.
