""Onderon? Nothing on that rock but monsters and beast riders.""
―Tallo

Onderon had four moons. Dxun, the primary moon, once orbited very close to the planet, allowing some animals to fly between the planet and the moon. The other three moons were Dagri, Evas and Suthre.

The native Humans of Onderon struggled against the beasts, eventually gathering new technologies and building a huge walled city, Iziz, to protect themselves. Like the people of many other fringe worlds, the Onderonians had a distrust of non-Humans.

Mandalorians on Onderon

There is a large group of Mandalorians in the wilds of Onderon. Descendants of the Mandalorians who settled on Dxun over five thousand years ago, the Mandalorians spend most of their time fighting for survival in the harsh climate. It doesn't stop them from continually attacking the one city on the planet, desiring to conquer the one place that has always seemed to defeat them.

They migrated to the planet proper several thousand years ago, but their numbers have been kept relatively small due to the extreme living conditions.

Onderon has been pretty peaceful since the Sith War and the original Krath, but they failed to realize the surviving members of the Mandalorian clans were cutting out a niche in the wilderness of the planet. They've spent the last several thousand years reproducing, living in the harshest conditions imaginable.

The only place for them to survive undetected on Onderon was in the area where the atmosphere bridge forms between Dxun and Onderon, since no one would want to build a city where bloodthirsty predators will arrive, starving from the long trip they've just made. But the Mando'ade did it. Living this way culled the weak, and only the strong survived.

After they decided they had ammassed a sizeable army, they made an assualt on Iziz ... and were thoroughly embarrassed. They had never seen the weapons that the Iziz had, and were simply outclassed. Over time, the Mandalorians got craftier and craftier, and did a little more damage with each assualt. Sadly enough, all Iziz scouting parties sent to seek out the Mandalorians' encampments never returned.

Compared to modern Mando'ade, their Onderonian cousins use antiquated weapons and technology, though they managed to keep up with most current tech through close observation of Iziz City, and theft.

Iziz City
Onderon had four moons. Dxun, the primary moon, once orbited very close to the planet, allowing some animals to fly between the planet and the moon. The other three moons were Dagri, Evas and Suthre.

The native humans of Onderon struggled against the beasts, eventually gathering new technologies and building a huge walled city, Iziz, to protect themselves. Like the people of many other fringe worlds, the Onderonians had a distrust of non-humans.
