The Vagaari were a humanoid species from the Unknown Regions. They were a race of nomadic conquerors and slavers that ruled a considerable area in the Unknown Regions. The Vagaari Empire was the political division of the Vagaari. It was led by a Miskara and its military forces were led by a Supreme Commander. Their clothing usually included robes of progressively fancy design and large masks intended to compensate for their height.

They were short with stubby legs, large hands, large violet eyes, flat ears rising high on the skull, and tan skin. They had two mouths, each with two sets of small teeth. They also carried strange unique creatures called wolvkils and schostri, which they used as weapons. Although relatively primitive, they had highly developed suspended animation technology, and were able to make effective use of captured interdiction fields. Vagaari starships utilized living shields of sentient beings trapped in transparisteel bubbles and mounted on the outside of the hull, making enemies unwilling to engage for risk of killing innocent beings.

• Vagaari civilian transport = Vagaari civilian transport were extremely large starships that carried the non-military personnel of the Vagaari.
• Vagaari plunder ship = Vagaari plunder ships were used by the Vagaari Empire to temporarily store and transport all types of valuable objects stolen from defeated starships and other civilizations.
• Vagaari shuttle = Vagaari shuttles were small windowless starships used to transport individuals to and from Vagaari warships.
• Vagaari warship = Vagaari warships were used by the race of nomadic warriors called the Vagaari. The outer hull of these starships were covered with slaves encased within zero-g plastic bubbles which created a living shield.
• Vagaari fighter = Vagaari fighters were starfighters used by the Vagaari. They were as maneuverable as X-wings, though with more firepower. They could also fly in a complex dance-like pattern which made them difficult to hit.
