The capitol city, and the so-called centre of civilization.

The Steelwood

Once the site of an ancient battle between now-forgotten foes, many warriors were buried here in their armor and with their swords as was the custom of the day. The Steelwood forest grew up over the graves, and it holds inside it the Sacred Circle, a nexus of magical power. The Circle is said to be where a great Metal/Fire battlemage fell in that forgotten war. No trees grow inside the Circle, which is about seven meters in diameter.

Cos Briste mountain range

Literally meaning Broken Leg, the Cos Briste range is heavily forested. Beyond the treeline the peaks are jagged and rocky, and treacherous.

The Rampart

A vast wall, protecting the northern borders of Dalriada, the Rampart holds back the Ironwood, a deep and murky forest inhabited by evil creatures.

History

"Many years ago, farther back into time than anyone cares to remember, Dalriada was little more than a farming village, a hamlet on the grassy plains of Asga. The Men of Dalriada were an industrious peoples, so it was not long before their tiny community had grown into a flourishing nation. Yet, a kingdom cannot be a kingdom without a king. What Dalriada sought was a strong leader, a man of charisma who could guide the freemen into greater triumphs – it was in Eliar Mergovas that they found this man. As his first act of office, the King decreed that a new city should be built, a city that would stand forever as a testament to the Men of Midgard." ~ The Scribe of Ages

The exact history of the land known as Dalriada, prior to its occupation by the Men of Midgard, is uncertain. As supposed descendants of the race who originally created the world, the Fian claim to know the truth. Before the freemen founded their fledgling village of Dalriada, the entire north-western portion of Asga was known as Dál Riata. Centuries ago, this was the kingdom of the early Fian, who ruled from the fortress of Dunadd. With the founding of Bai-Ulgan, the Fian were slowly driven out of the land that they had been given, and even Dunadd itself was abandoned to ruin.
