Design
As with the Rapier-class, the Brawler-class ic the culmination of technology from all branches of the Empire come together in the New AEGIS line. Propultion, sensors, Weapons, and Countermeasure suites are all state of the art next generation technology. Routing secondary functions through droid controls before allows any battle damage to be instantly controlled via the dispatch of emergency repair teams, timely so by the droids. In the event of an ion incident, the droids can retake control of the ship by re routing power faster than their human counter part allow. These droid brains also control much of the primary work load allowing for a relativity small crew for a vessel this size. Four Mk3 “Viper” Supercharged Fusion Reactor supply power fo the systems, weapons, and the WhisperThrust sublight drives. Fabritech Vanish 1 Sensor Mask gives the Brawler moderate Steath capabilities allowing it to close to within one hundred kilometers of a target without detection
Prow mounted long range heavy turbolasers and diamond boron missile launchers, working in conjunction with the stealth suite, give the Brawler-class the ability to strike a target undetected and disappear into space. Eighteen rapid fire double light turbolaser cannons are mounted on turrets and equipped with fast tracking targeting. This allows them to target, track and engage fast moving corvettes and fighters. Four double ion cannon turrets give the Brawler-class the ability disabling capturing and boarding enemy vessels making it an excellent interdiction platform for use in customs services and as an anti-pirate ship. Four phalanx quad cannons offer close point defense against Fighters, torpedoed, and missiles. Two tractor beam projectors assist the Brawler class in fighter recovery and ship capture.
History
The Brawler-class Frigate is one of the AEGIS (Advanced Engineering Generation Imperial Ship) developed by the Empire. The Brawler-class was built to be the main operational vessel of the New Imperial Navy. As the need for Large powerful warships fades the Brawler offers a fast moderately powerful design for patrol, escort, and interdiction duty. The first run of twelve Brawler-class were commissioned and operation soon after the signing of the Duro Accord.
