Natalia Fedorov is former agent of the FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) and current member of faculty at Dr. Cullen's Institute for the Gifted. As a new addition to the schools teaching staff, Natalia primarily teaches classes on cultural and ethical studies, whilst also offering some tuition on foreign languages.

Biography

In Russia, she was known by the code-name Vila, a reference to the Slavic mythological creature of the same name. Her powers were not widely known and were primarily used for undercover operations, in which Natalia could infiltrate hostile cells without fear of discovery. Unofficial employee of the state, no records exist of her association to the Russian government.

In early 2007, amidst a flurry of anti-mutant propaganda, Natalia was released from employment, with the FSB fearing what kind of backlash might occur should knowledge of her existence become public. One of the primary concerns surrounding the mutant population was that many of them could slip beneath the radar and pass as 'normal' human beings, thereby making Natalia all the more threatening.

Rather than remaining in her home country, Natalia opted to travel elsewhere and found herself gravitating towards the United States.

Powers

Natalia is a shapeshifter with the power to alter the formation of her biological cells at will, allowing her to assume the form of any other human. Her ability allows her to mimic not only the physical appearance of a person, but also their voice, as well as any clothing they may be wearing. The primary limitation of Natalia's power is that she cannot take on the appearance of anyone whose body mass is significantly larger or smaller than her own.
