She's going to be a math teacher. Its acceptable for her to study math.
A unique thing there. A teacher who learns her subject first. We never got this luxory
I don't know you guys. I'm just so exhausted nowadays. I'm caught up on my work, more or less, my social life is nothing to worry about, and I have more free time than I know what to do with.
But I feel so bogged down. I feel like I've got too many personal battles to fight right now. War in Iraq? Those battles are easier to fight than the ones inside. I'm at the point where I could care less about the war. Please no one take offense, It's just how I feel.
I wasn't aware in the sudden shift in profession. At any rate, you'd think that she'd have credits for that, since I assume she graduated with at least calculus under her belt.
Boy, when that sandstorm lifts, we are really going to let loose on those 1,000 vehicles that have set off southwards from Baghdad. We are going to murder those poor dumb bastards by the bushel!
Re : Opera House.
The No war was painted on and took 20 grand to fix. Quite a bit of anger from the population that defacement took place.
Re : Violent protest in Sydney.
DO NOT mistake these twats for real protestors. This rally was taken over by anarcists and people looking to cause trouble. The police even KNEW that was the intention. The so-called protest was run by a mob of loonies with no agenda other than violence.
Aussies are in the main against the war. fine. When we protest, we do it peacefully. We are a place where real protestors can have chats with police and be orderly. These... fools out yesterday are not Australians. And, there was a great deal of anger on the news and talkback about this scum.
These are the "core organizers", or at least of the protests in the States. Most of the large protests launched here are organized by ANSWER, which is a communist front group, sympathetic to marxists, anarchists, etc. It does not suprise me that the protests are turning out like this. I knew from the get-go who were pulling the strings behind them, irregardless of the legitimate protestors who might have been there.Originally posted by Marcus Elessar

When somebody is protesting peace, and their political ideology calls for the violent overthrow of capitalist governments by any means necessary, either laugh at them, or kick them. Please.
Nah, I'll go with you. I'm bigger than they are. I'll sit on them or something.I so want to get a sign that says "Oregonians against Disrespectful Protestors" and go stand in Pioneer Square.
But I'll just get the snot kicked out of me.
Just think, after my spring break, I get to deal with most of these people every day. Thank you, PSU, for being a liberal (open minded, ha! I think not!) university.
</sarcasm>
ANSWER's funding comes from Cuba, right? I think I heard from O'Reilly that it was a group that was organized by Cuba.
ANSWER was one of 2 of the groups that decided it would be a good idea to try to molotov cocktail my town while they were marching for peace and looting/damaging the starbucks and gaps. If Castro is responsible for them, then he just made it onto my enemies list.
Did you guys hear about the British Marine who was shot in the head four times yesterday? He survived - had his helmet on at the time. Kinda odd though, in a funny kinda way. I mean getting shot twice is nlucky - but four!?!?!? You could see the dents in his helmet, right across his forehead. Despite the helment, it would have hurt like hell. One cannot fathom the sheer amount of Anadin he had last night!
Still, you'd think he'd have ducked after the first one - certainly after the second. That's pretty unlucky. But at the same time he's incredibly lucky he had his helmet on!
Well.. I would have to think the Marine was in shock, first of all.. and second, if the bullets were spaced out, yeah he could have fallen, but I have a feeling they came pretty much one after the other.. with the velocity of a traveling bullet, you don't have time to duck.. much less think.
And.. I graduated with a degree in Marketing, and I took up through Calc. IV (since I was engineering for two and a half years).. BUT, if you don't have a degree in Education, you have to take what's called a certification test to ensure you are fit to teach the subject you will be teaching. It's been two years since I graduated college, and four years since I've had to take any math. Trust me, you forget a LOT of stuff over that time.
What's funny is that I can remember advanced Calc theorems, but not basic algebra or geometry. But then again, it's been 11 years since I took those classes.. wow... I'm getting old.
Thats what I call a close call!

I thought the US prided itself on freedom of speech? When somebody is protesting peace, and their political ideology calls for the violent overthrow of capitalist governments by any means necessary, either laugh at them, or kick them. Please.
How about a little bit of levity?
They're allowed to say it under law, but that doesn't spare them from public ridicule. Double edged sword, that freedom of speechOriginally posted by ReaperFett
