    Sweet Home Alabama

So has anybody seen this movie? Not like I am intersting just curious since it made 35 million over the weekend. Doubt it will be #1 next weekend though the Red Dragon should take that spot.

I wanted to see it, but I went to see Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever instead.

Oops I was supposed to PM Fett and tell him how it was. I can't remember if I did or not.

Ballistic was a pretty good action flick, solid enough, but not outstanding. But...the fight scenes were top notch, IMO. Ray Park, who we all know and love as Darth Maul, is in this movie, and he faces off against Lucy Liu near the end of the movie.

That fight alone was worth the 5.50 I paid to see the movie. Love it!!

Sorry, back to Sweet Home Alabama...

My parents saw it, if that counts for anything...

    My mom loved it.

Dad said it was a chick flick (hell, they both said that) and Dad said it started very slow and he strained to keep his attention on the film. Though, he did say, it picked up.. which surprised him.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid this movie. Its another one of those "Hey, lets make a movie about Alabama, even though I can't find the frikkin state on a map" movies.

They treat civil war re-enactments as if they are a state-wide past-time or something. I hate movies like this.

Hey people in California have statewide Civil War enactments too. People do that all over the country. Just have to find the right sorts of people.

But no one would believe a movie with Civil War enactments in California, even though they happen all the time.

Just quit your whining and git to the bar to git me another beer!!

    Bah

This movie does suck. I saw it last weekend and it was worse than even I was expecting. I'd give it 1.5 stars, it was definitely pretty bad, and the ending is lame. The whole movie is cliched, lame, unoriginal, and predictable. It's just a poor film.

Girls may like it, but if you look at the film and its structure it's just poor. It's like action movies. Sometimes, guys like really bad action movies, but you have to be able to realize a bad action movie when you see one, just as you have to be able to recognize a bad chick flick when you see one, no matter whether you're a girl or guy. This is just bad filmmaking. The critics are absolutely right.

Legally Blonde, now there was a good, funny chick flick.

Hear hear, Legally Blonde was a riot. I was afraid to see it at first, but, man, it was funny! I'll eventually be buying that one.

Right after I get the MST3K version of Space Mutiny, though. That was funnier.

    Yeah, haha

I admit, I bought Legally Blonde on DVD

I also bought Serendipity, and I have a few other chick flicks.

I want to buy Clueless but... LOL, well last time I tried I missed the last copy, and now it's $14.99 at Fred Meyer, which is ok I suppose but in a college town especially I'm almost embarrassed to buy it alone. I'll wait until Brotherhood of the Wolf gets in tomorrow (they sold out their initial shipment) and get Clueless with it, just to prove that I'm not a homo, haha. I have a crush on Alicia Silverstone still She's so hot in that movie, lol.

Alicia! Ew, I heard she was like in tune with the earth and doesn't shave.

    Haha

    Yeah, riiiight.

Those rumors about her getting fat were really annoying too, you can see clear as day in any of her movies she is not fat. Perhaps at one point she gained -- *gasp!* -- 10 pounds, but obviously she has lost it or it doesn't matter. That's pretty lame because if a guy gains 15 or 20 pounds nobody cares, but if a girl does, it's a big deal, when I don't even think those tabloid reports were accurate.

    Alicia is so hot.
