Society and Culture: Cities and villages are primarily made up of large family units or single tribes which function much like trade guilds. Skilled trades are often held by one tribe or clan, and those skills are not taught to those outside the clan. Commerce is primarily run by bargained trades of skill, goods and labor between clans. They are an intensely xenophobic culture, and there is little to no interaction with off-world races. Any interaction which is had with outside races is done with careful scrutiny and controlled access. The Wah are adamant to be left alone by the outside galaxy, and do not seek interaction with it, instead focusing on local matters of importance.
History: Each clan has their own version of history, but most all legends point back to a single event caused by the witches of Dathomir breathing sentience into a previously animal race. Legends tell that the witches wished for the race to be their servants, but the Wah would not comply, and were soon left alone on their forest moon orbiting Dathomir. Wars and fighting were constant in their early history, until the clan trade system was established, and each clan began to focus on internal commerce instead of warfare, to gain the upper hand on their rivals. The Wah always knew of other races beyond the moon they call home, but most never felt the desire to interact with them, after how the witches of Dathomir treated their ancestors.
Additional Info (optional): Though war is not common on their moon, that is not to say that the Wah do not have skilled warriors. Ferocious animal instinct can overcome the diminutive race, and they fight with edged weapons, blasters, or their own teeth and claws with equal abandon. Spacefaring is not in their nature, but they do understand space travel, and do not fear it, they simply prefer to be among their own kind. It is seldom to see a single Wah on his or her own, as they are a highly social race among themselves. Being a partial creation of the witches of Dathomir, Force sensitivity is immensely common among the Wah, with scholars focusing on aspects of telepathy and telekinesis, while laborers or practitioners of the martial arts find the physical application of the Force more to their liking. Though they understand there is some form of religion surrounding the Force that both the Jedi and the Sith practiced, they do not follow any of it themselves, instead allowing their abilities to become part of their daily lives.
The Wah are familiar with the outside galaxy by means of holovision, and sitcoms are massively popular among them. However, with many not having any contact with outside races, many do not fully understand what is fictional and what is reality in the holovision programming they receive. Only five Wah are authorized to leave the planet, and all work as traders for off-world goods in strictly-controlled environments, well away from their home planet. The location of their world is a closely-guarded secret. Though there are rumors of nearly two dozen other Wah living off-world, the Wah do not acknowledge these rumors as being true in any way.
In body and coloration, the Wah most resemble what those from Earth would call a red panda.
