This thread is intended as an info-dump for all content related to the Cizeri military interventions in the pirate and slaver stronghold of Thalassia, in particular the campaigns known as the third siege. Names, dates, locations, and other important information will be here for common use.

History:

Two years after the Clone Wars, High Mother Feessarro (the Elder), responding to demands from the Baroness Oligarchy at the time, declared an emergency police action on the nearby world of Thalassia - a known haven of pirates and slavers. The Imperial Navy had given the sector a relatively negligent presence, allowing (or encouraging) slaving activity to increase. Slave labor began to give competing neighboring industries a decided competitive advantage to Cizeri industries, which while predatory, exploitative, and fervently anti-union, still refused to cross a line that would put millions of Cizerack out of jobs. The Cizerack sent a pocket fleet of galleons to smash the motley assortment of gunboats and runabouts the pirates kept in holding to prey on the Hydian Way, and proceeded to land marines on the planet to pacify the world and oust the Thalassian warlord, the so-called Blood Prince. Six months of orbital bombardment and ground operations resulted in a summary declaration of success and withdrawal.

The second siege of Thalassia occurred two years later. With intentions sent to Emperor Palpatine, the Cizeri military again exercised emergency police action. The occupation lasted three years, and eventually was abandoned when the Empire declared the sector an area of interest. The Cizerack deferred to the Empire, withdrawing from the planet.

The third siege of Thalassia began as Imperial presence withdrew from the contested sector to pursue a growing Rebellion. Sensing the vacuum, the then-regent Emissary Feessarro resumed the campaign of pacification seven years after the Battle of Endor. The siege lasted for three years, ending without a decisive result once the Cizerack Pride allied itself with the Alliance of Free Planets, and the galaxy entered a state of cold war.

To this day, the slaver regime of Thalassia still endures.

The primary fighting unit of the story is Besh Company, Second Battalion of the 22nd Jaani'saarri Trade Marine Legion. Known members are as follows:

  • Wehdrane: A city on the gulf coast of Wahru province. Seat of the Thalassian opposition government propped up by the Cizerack.


Information about Thalassia:

The planet Thalassia is heavily forested, with deciduous and evergreens to the northern and southern extremes and tropical rainforest across the equatorial range. The planet is heavily hilled and mountained, but few mountains range high enough to have a broken treeline. The valleys between the hills and mountains are broken up by extensive rivers and delta marshes. The climate ranges from temperate to hot and humid. Rainfall is largely consistent on a yearly basis.

The planet's inhabitants are pescaloid humanoid aliens, blue-grey in skin tone with spiny fins splayed over their auditory canals. They have large golden eyes. Most of the planet's twenty million inhabitants are not associated with the slave trade, although the lines may blur between who is and is not a benefactor. There is also an extensive population of some five million freedmen of numerous species. These people are regarded as stateless refugees.
