When Hunters become the Hunted (closed RP)

The Fallen Angel speeds through hyperspace carrying it's two passengers to it's ultimate destination - Ord Mantell. It's on the final leg of it's trip, having been in flight for nearly six hours now. It's pilot, Laran Katern otherwise known as Darth Renegade, sits in chair fast asleep; letting the automatic pilot finish the trip for him. He stirs a little in his chair. Just then a soft alarm goes off, and he opens his eyes, still a little groggy from his cat nap. Shaking his head a little he comes to his senses and flicks a switch shutting down the lightspeed engines and activated the sublight engines. The ship slows down and appears in Ord Mantell space. He grabs a hold of the stick and shuts off the auto pilot, preferring to do a little flying before setting his beloved ship down.

He looks over at his passenger and smiles slightly, his face still showing a little bit of the affects of sleep. He yawns slightly, trying to cover it up before speaking with a soft voice.

Ahhh, I slept a little longer then I'd wanted to. Here we are though, approaching Ord Mantell, like I needed to tell you that. I trust the journey was relaxing for you

Turning his attention back to the view screen, and the approaching planet, Laran maneovers the ship skillfully into one of the entrance lanes to the atmosphere. He casts a quick glance back at his mysterious passenger.

[i]So where are you to meet your contact? Any place particular I should land?

She looked out the viewport and watched the stars streak by. It was a soothing meditation for her mind that helped to keep her focused. She woke up from her nap about twenty mintues ago from the same nightmare that haunted her. It had been weeks since she last had it but a week ago, when she started this info gathering, it came back.

Her thoughts returned to the present. A full awareness was needed and she still did not fully trust Laran's motives in helping her to get to Ord Mantell. She acknowledged his presence at the Jedi Bar and Grill known as affectionately as Yog's. He didn't approach her but found it in his best interest to try and probe her mind. He backed off when she made it clear to keep away with blocking him.

She then found that their paths would cross again when she visited the Sith Empire. Laran again tried to gain some information about her but used the subtle approach, otherwise known as the art of conversation. He was kind enough to offer free passage to Ord Mantell, which was her final destination since she decided on this little excursion of hers. The state of the galaxy was driving her's and Karrde's plans out of wack with all the wars popping up in every system. She went on an information dig to find out what she could about the Jedi and Sith. Finally it was over. She was to meet up with Zain and get back to base.

Laran stirred and she looked over at him with a nod, making it quite aware that she knew he was awake.

"The trip was smooth and the ship held together. Works for me."

She half grinned and looked at the readings in response to Laran's question, tucking the loose red hair behind her ear.

"Head for the main cluster of cities. My contact will be at the Hand's Fate Casino. Shouldn't be too much trouble. Well, as much trouble a whole planet of smugglers and bounty hunter could offer."

Turning to his passenger, Laran smiles. He beings to scan the planet, looking for the coordinates of the closest landing pad to the Hand's Fate Casino. The computer begins to scan the planet, but not finding anything, coming back with only a blank screen. Renegade scowls somewhat at his screen.

THis is brand new equipment. This should be working. The only way it wouldn't be is unless.....

He never had the chance to finish his sentence, as the Fallen Angel is rocked by laser blasts. He immediately begins to take evasive maneovers, and throttling up again. He glances at his mysterious companion with a concerned eye

    You'd better strap...oh nevermind

As he discovers she's already done so. He rolls the ship hard to the right, as one alarm sounds loudly. The ships shakes violently as misles pound into the back of it. One set of instrument panels goes dead, as a loud alrm begins to sound. Laran turns to face his comrade.

This isn't good. I'm gonna have to put down somewhere in a hurry, so brace yourself this is not gonna be a pleasant trip

Smoke starts to fill the air in the cockpit, as a fire begins to brun in one of the consoles in the back. With one remaining engine, and shields dropping at a constant rate, reentry was going to be a difficult task, let alone losing his attackers

Mara's danger sense picked up the attack right before it happened. Her first thought was how anyone knew that she was coming here. Of course, she is in the company of a Sith so who knows why they were being attacked. Her nostrils filled with smoke and she used her cloak to cover her mouth, protecting her lungs. Nodding to Laran, Mara looked quickly around to see where the smoke was coming from.

She wanted to curse out loud because the console that was set on fire was part of the targeting system. A fire extinguisher came off its place on the wall and floated over to Mara. Pulling the safety off, she proceeded to douse the flames from her chair. The smoke started to lessen in its thickness and it was safe to talk without choking now.

"Tell me where and what kind of weapons there are. We need cover fire so you can stablize the ship."

    ***Hours Earlier***

He walked into his office and saw a red light flashing on his comm unit. He pushed his thumb over the receive button and began listening to the voice on the other end of the unit.

Senator, the man you sent for has arrived.

Send him in please, but first, check him again for weapons

Being the Senator of a planet run on crime, he should've felt comfortable dealing with Bounty Hunters, but he never was, he didn't trust them. But, his personel preferences had to be put aside when a task needed to be fulfilled.
