I am surprised no one started a thread for it. We have had several good weeks of football. Right now LSU looks like like the best team but it is very early. Alabaman, Oklahoma, and Stanford all look good. Clemson has had a great season and have beat 3 straight ranked teams and are 5-0. I have my doubts they can leap the SEC, Big 12, or Stanford, but they should still have a great shot at the ACC title and a major bowl for the first time since the 1980s.
Here's the thread you're after

I've shifted this thread into the forum with the rest of the sports talk
whoops not sure how I missed it. I can just merge the two threads.
I didn't realize this thread existed, so we can talk about the games this weekend here. I was really impressed with Clemson this weekend. This is the best they have looked in at least 10 years.
This is why Florida got beaten so badly.

I'm going to Tuscaloosa this morning to tailgate. I will take plenty of pics, vids, etc
Also, since I had no idea this was moved, a little more topical stuff:
Yeah, Clemson is on fire. Looks like they're having the season they should have had in 2008. If they can keep the intensity up through the next few games it bodes well for them in the conference.
I am from the DFW area originally. Back there, one game always brings in an influx of visitors. Texas/OU was always a big deal (even though I really kinda despise both teams). Because of where my hometown is on I35, we'd have bajillions of Sooners roll through on their way to Dallas..
It's really a crazy, unique kinda game and atmosphere. The State Fair back drop, the way the stadium is halved off at the 50, etc. -- really a cool deal. I will watch, as I usually do, really having no clue who to even root for. But, it takes me back, it really does.
I'm so glad LaMichael James is going to be okay. Can we stop replaying the injury on the news, now?
This is about the first time i consider the rankings somewhat earned -- since we're a month into the season. Therefore, here is the rundown of ranked teams that lost this week.
(11) Texas
(15) Auburn
(17) Florida
(23) Florida State
And in the most important game of the weekend, North Texas beat FAU 31-17.
My pick 'em got wrecked this week. Auburn, FSU, Miami, and Nebraska? You broke my heart.
Went to the Bama game (my first to attend in the Saban era) and holy shit it was an experience. That stadium is ridiculously large now. Also the game lead-in video thing is basically Saban screaming at everyone. It has a very Triumph of the Will sort of vibe which is kinda creepy until I decide aw fuck it, no it owns.
Bama was Bama. 1st quarter was derp, we can't run shit and our over-aggressive secondary plays way off assignment (Dre Kirkpatrick I'm looking at you) but we ratcheted it up and rolled along like a death march after that. We still need kickers in the worst way. Ugh they're awful.
Also I got a real good look at Jalston Fowler, our "3rd string" running back, or the 400 pounds of meat and iron they call Jalston Fowler. His arms are the size of my legs holy fucking shit. In 4 years that dude is gonna make the Pittsburgh Steelers really happy, because he's a yards-after-contact bull

We won all the games convincingly so far though. Looking good!
The game vs LSU will be huge. Also, Tennessee, because I enjoy watching them suffer.
Give ‘em hell, Alabama!
Yeah they haven't been in a situation that's remotely put the issue in doubt for me yet. Penn State was the closest to that but even then it wasn't really. That's good for my blood pressure, but of course that all changes vs LSU which let's face it, whoever wins that game is going to win the National Championship. Could a Wisconsin or an Oklahoma beat the SEC champion? Maybe, but LSU and Bama both look better.
Gonna totally tailgate for the LSU game, but no way am I getting in. I'd need to put my house up on a 2nd mortgage for a ticket inside.
Just found out that Jalston Fowler weighs in at 246 pounds. A running back, at 246 pounds. Holy shit.
How much does it generally cost to attend a college football game??
It ranges from free to one thousand dollars, depending on the team and the significance of the game, as well as the location in the stadium. Midfield and lower seating commands high prices, as well as reserved boxes, which are astronomical.
It was a lot more affordable to go to games when I was in school because Alabama wasn't all that good, but even then they're Alabama so you'll pay for tickets. With us being as dominant as we've been the past four years and with a national championship under us, you're looking at probably $75 for upper deck seating for a game with few or no stakes, and for a really contentious game, probably $300 or more. I remember when Bama went to the Rose Bowl to play Texas for the 2009 championship, tickets were easily hitting $1000 and sometimes more than that.
I see Figz browsin', so now's a time to give his team a hand for beating NCAA polio victim Minnesota Real Bad.
