The Intel pentium G6950 (2.8GHz dual-core) has been recommended in the latest issue of Custom PC as 'Possibly the most overclockable CPU on the planet' and is available on www.dabs.com for £76.

And the magazine tested it in a Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H motherboard, which is available here for £70. The review states that the CPU passes the 4.2GHz mark with no signs of instability and quickly hit 4.62GHz with the use of a 220MHz Base Clock and 1,320MHz memory frequency.

They compared it with the AMD Athlon II X3 455 which retails for around £70 at www.scan.co.uk.

Anybody in the market for a CPU/motherboard upgrade may want to consider this combination if you're looking to overclock.

Just thought I'd share the knowledge.
