My school MTSU beat Maryland, which I would say was there biggest road win in program history. They play at North Texas next that should be interesting

I thought you guys beat the Terps in Maryland last year too? Or was that in Murphresboro? I know yall have beaten Memphis & Vandy on the road in the past, but Maryland probably is bigger.
And the NW is rocking out.
I suppose it would be 'perfect' to some if the Beavers had won their game as well, but I'm glad they lost. Ducks somehow managed to win, despite horribleness at the quarterback position.
Best part: Owen yelling "Go, go!" at the screen with his dad whenever a long run would break out.
oh what a tangled web I weave
Pretty crazy day today. Alot of big teams go down(Cal being the most shocking...not that that they lost, but the total destruction), tho it's hard to classify any of these rankings as having alot of validity.
I think the rankings that come out tomorrow will really be the first ones that have any sort of meaning. We've seen just about everyone play a big test at this point, so we are starting to get a handle on who is good.
It also seems Miami wasn't the team to beat by Va Tech.
I knew that one from the outset. I have no idea why people thought Miami would be able to keep up with VT.
Pre-season polls need to be eliminated. There shouldn't be any polls until the first BCS rankings come out in mid-October, IMO. Using two polls, one done by coaches who barely pay attention to anyone besides their team and their next opponent, the other done by a cross section of the sports media of whom maybe only 1/4 actually pay attention and watch all the games, to decide not only who gets into a championship game, but to rank teams before they even get on the field in August, is just dumb.
I still don't think we have a good feel for who is for real or not. Honestly, the two teams I've been most impressed with so far this season are Alabama and Cincinnati. Houston is a nice story so far, Boise State could run the table again, and Florida and Texas are about where everyone expected them to be record-wise.
It's hard for me to be very into college football this season. It's been brutal to be a Purdue fan this year. At least basketball season isn't that far off.
I still can't believe there are numerous undefeated BCS conference teams that are essentially out in the cold with four weeks down in the season so far. That is, well, insanity.
Ranked teams that go down today.

Salt the earth of Knoxville and slay the first born.
Wild game with Bama beating Tennessee with two blocked FGs. I have to say it was a lot of fun watching it with it an Alabama and Tennessee fan
In other games, Clemson pulled a big upset in beating Miami. Puts Clemson in position to play for the ACC title.
Alot of near upsets today, but not many actually occured. Still here were the top 25 schools that lost.
(8) Miami (FL)
(16) BYU
(21) Texas Tech
(24) Kansas
I'm glad we beat Tennessee, but I wish it wasn't so damn close. Then again, there's literally no volume of points we could hang on those assholes to satisfy my undying hatred and bloodlust against everything orange. Somehow Knoxville still lives, and this angers me greatly.
Great game today with Alabama beating LSU. They know get a rematch with Florida. Several upsets today, Iowa, Oregon, Penn State, and Notre Dame all lose.
Clemson won a big game over Florida State. They are in great position to play for the ACC title. Also Spiller should get some Heisman consideration, the kid is amazing.

Tears, tears for Ol' Notre Dame
Another loss and feelin the pain
Cheer up Charlie Weis don't cry
Take your frustrations out on some pie
You get shellacked by Navy football
And by some teams better known for B-ball
But you always know your game will
Be on the N-B-C
