Movies The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - teaser

I actually just read this book/s, and I actually just saw a teaser trailer for the movie in front of National Treasure!

And, having now read the book, I am devoutly looking forward to this movie.

!!!!! Love the teaser, couldn't believe no one had reported on this in this forum, because this news took me completely by surprise.

I might return to RPing if those scrumptious Gue twins would come back. Figrin Sandwich, am I right?

I'm actually looking forward to this more than I am Episode III. The "Hitchhiker's Trilogy" is a great read. I only hope the film can live up to it.

I wonder how much of the story the film will cover, though.

I read this a long while back and while I can't remember too much of the details about it, I remember really, really liking it. This should be pretty good. I'm surprised they aren't releasing it 4/2

I actually just finished the fourth book in the "trillogy" this morning. Ive known about the film for some time and to tell you the truth, Im worried. The books are amazing, and very very funny but every time I try to imagine something like this on the big screen, I ultimately see cheese. I just cant see it working. Im keen to see the trailer so that hopefully it will convince me that it could actually work.

If they really stick to the release date of May 6th then they'd better hope that they get a HUGE B.O. pull in the first week because once the 19th hits, it's all over for everyone.

I saw this teaser a few months back. Honestly, I'm not too hopeful. Not to sound like a snob or anything, but I definitely think they should have stuck with a British director / cast for this one.

Well, Arthur is a Brit, so that's a start anyway.

Well the screenplay was written by Douglas Adams himself, and he was a very active part in it's creation until his untimely death. So, I'm as hopeful as I would be if it was a Discworld movie written by Terry Pratchett.

I haven't read the book(s) yet, but I bought myself the "trilogy" this morning and am eagerly anticipating its arrival (especially since I have heard it has a Pratchett-y, Monty Python quality to it)

Me too, I thought I'd finished the fourth, but it was the third. Only a couple of chapters into the fourth now. Lookin good!

I've read every book of his. They're all great. The fifth one is a tad bit less so, since Adams was sort of running thin on material at that point I think, but it's still an apt conclusion. The Dirk Gently books are hilarious too.

My one regret is that Adams didn't put out more work during the 90s. I'd have loved to read more of his stuff then because I was just getting into him during that time.

The trailer caught me by surprize as I had forgotten the movie was in the works. I'm taking a wait and see approach to the movie. As for the books I've got the trillogy, but have only read the 1st one and keep meaning to get to the others, but another book is going to fill up my time for a great while.
