Kara Hawkins is a mutant with telepathic and telekinetic abilities working as a Civilian Specialist for S.H.I.E.L.D. She is also a member of the Avengers Initiative.

History

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Kara Hawkins' early life was quiet, simple, and carefree. Despite growing up in a loving and caring environment Kara often found herself acting out and creating, mostly harmless, forms of mischief that often put her at odds with whatever school she was attending at the time. The manifestation of her mutant powers only seemed to further the problem as Kara began to learn how to use her telekinesis to aid her in whatever trouble she could create and then often avoid consequences by using her telepathy. All the while Kara made her best attempts to keep the knowledge of her abilities from her mother and father, something she believed she was successful of even when she left for college.

Her time at Northern Arizona University was short-lived, the exact circumstances of Kara's leaving the college are unknown, mostly due to a fairly large group of students having no knowledge regarding the fact the girl was ever there despite having been in classes with and sharing a Sorority house with Kara. Aside from the incident causing her to drop out of college, it also seems to harbor enough worry from the girl that she ceased communication with her parents - perhaps out of a combination of not wanting to further disappoint them, and them finding out about her mutant abilities.

Only a few months later a particularly outlandish scam in Florida regarding the theft of debit cards and their corresponding pin numbers that ended with her using her telepathy to quite literally walk out of the front door of a Police Station resulting in Kara being confronted by a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. It seemed all her activities over the course of her life had caught their attention and the option was given: Join S.H.I.E.L.D, or finally face the proper authorities who knew how to handle mutant crime. The choice was simple and Kara quickly took on the roll of Specialist Hawkins.

The sudden shift in her life and responsibility she had been given as a member of the Avengers has been a dramatic change for the girl and seems to agree with her... mostly.

Family and other Relationships

Glen Hawkins is Kara's father and the man who typically had to deal with the fallout from whatever her misbehavior wrought. No matter how much trouble the girl was in, however, her father completely doted upon her and often kept the worst of her misdeeds from her mother's knowledge. Out of her two parents Kara was always closer to her father.

Sandra Hawkins is Kara's mother. Kara's relationship with her mother is fairly typical of most girls who favor their father - a combination of mutual frustration minor strife highlighted by strange moments of bonding. Although they may not always see eye-to-eye, Kara still holds a great deal of respect and love for her mother. She just doesn't always show it.

Jensen Hawkins is Kara's uncle - her father's brother. If Glen was troublesome about not encouraging his daughter's mischief, her uncle was downright incorrigible, much to Kara's delight. Unlike her parents Kara has remained in contact with her uncle, knowing full well he passes off information to her mother and father.

Abilities

The first of Kara's mutant abilities to manifest was telekinesis and she quickly began exploring and testing how far she could push herself. At this time she is capable of moving objects of considerable size, though usually only under duress. Kara also has a remarkable amount of precision, having learned how to pick locks quite early on gave her a greater understanding of using her ability for tasks that require a high level of detail.

Kara's abilities in telepathy came second and have proven to be more difficult for the girl. She has learned how to alter the perceptions of those around her when necessary and even implanting thought into others minds but reading them outright still proves troublesome. Similar to her telekinesis, her abilities seem to become stronger when she is under stress.

Sarah is a just another office drone living in Los Angeles, California. She joined Fans in the Summer of 2000 under the name of Rain13. After following The Sith Empire's separation from Fans she continued to role play at SWRPG under various other names (Raine Sarin, Cerridwen, Leliel) before returning to Fans in December of 2008 under her new main alias: Emelie Shadowstar.
