| Syrenia was born to Duke Rodrigue and Duchess Fiora Renkl on Virgillia 7, five years after her older sisters Tatiana and Natalia, right after the family moved to Tegrat. The Renkl family had manufactures on Tegrat for technological parts and computer software, which helped sustain the family while the rest of their money went to support the fight against the rebellion.
Syrenia was trained in combat techniques from a young age, and enlisted in the imperial Army when only sixteen, a couple of years after her older sister had enlisted in the Navy. Syrenia served during the civil war, and then in different batallions as she progressed through the ranks, proving her skills, first as a soldier specialized in combat vehicles, and eventually as a tactician for ground operations.
After attaining the rank of Captain, she requested to be assigned to her home sector, where she has been serving as Head of Virgillia 7 Planetary Security Forces for the last two years, often collaborating with military sector leaders to ensure the security of Koradin inhabitants.
Syrenia met Rachael Nystrom, assistant for Romanage's, when her sister forced her to get properly attired for an official reception. Not only did Syrenia appreciate Rachael's artistic talent and how she was a breath of fresh air compared to most designers; but she found the other woman quite endearing. She took Rachael as her date to the event, making sure others would know who she was as she got complimented on her outfit; and she was especially glad to get to leave early so she could start getting to know Rachael in a quieter setting away from the public eye. Both women became friends over the next few months. While Syrenia grew very fond and hoped for more with Rachael, she has made sure not to rush things or put pressure on the fashion designer.
