Description:

Another joint ventureship betweeen KDY and CEC, the Nebulon-B3 Escort Frigate was envisaged as a better escort frigate, with the primary hangar moved to the spar connecting the two halves together, overall size of the spar much expanded and widened. The old hangar has been reduced in size and re-designated a secondary hangar for shuttles and gunboats.

The armament and protection has been changed and slightly ramped up as well, but at a cost of overall speed.

An initial order of twenty had been placed one year and six months after Endor. The first batch of five were nearing completion when a flaw was found in number five, so only four will be avilable for the first transfer to Kuat.

I like the Design but one thing bothers me. It is too fast compared to the original. Not that our mglt system means alot as far as sim writing goes. but to a Specs minded person like me the increase in speed from the B2 seems too large.

Now I know there are two differant MGLT systems used alot and that we use the slower of the 2 systems which I think is wrong and I wish we would convert to the faster MGLT system. A carrack is supposed to be able to keep up with fighters and with the current system they cant.

Also I will Reply to the thread tomarrow I have alot to do today and I need to finish this stuff up here at the house before I get involved in the thread.

According to Wookiepedia the speed of the B2 is 46.8 MGLT, so my version is much slower.

the wookie uses the faster system the B2 is only 14 mglt

I always went with the slower speed when it came to to MGLT. But I think Reshmar is right, I'd like to go with the faster rating. I always got annoyed by some of the freakishly low speeds for the lighter capitol ships (like the carrack as stated earlier in the thread.)

Only thing that I really see is the inclusion of heavy turbolaser batteries on a frigate type vessel. I don't see how a vessel that small can support heavies, both in terms of space/hardpoint and power capacity.

If the mass of the fleet people agree I can do up all the faster ratings and chage the stats on our Wiki.

ok, after going thru every wizard source book I could get my hands on, chatting with some game developers who work on Empire at war and make mods for them, and talking with people on my table top role playing site i have managed to get a list of the new stats for the ships. which was nice I was afraid i was going to have to do alot of looking up online but no a nice list was already out there.

Ok I am working on getting some of the ships not on the list on there. but as for a NEbulon B and B2 the Speeds are 68 Mglt for the B and 72 MGLT for the B2

Now that being said the weapons seem to be alot differant. at first I was confused then i went to some of the wizard books and looked at the code for the EAW game and it makes sense and is a lot better system then any i have seen before. And it sems to be the stat system that will slowly be put into place in future RPG books and games.

I will post a list of im ships later on and you guys can look over the new weapon stats. Most are the same the only big differance is no more batteries. and alot of turbolasers have now been broken down into light normal and heavy. Also the large Ship based ion cannons are now called Turboion Cannons.
