Work In Progress

At the age of twenty-four standard years, Lana Marzullo is the eldest child of Itala Marzullo and Jen Katrina. Lana was the apple of her father's eye, his pride and joy. There was almost nothing the offspring could do that would have garnered disappointment from the man. Almost.

Her parents marriage had ended and her mother had taken to bedding a man named Lord Gue. Unfortunately, Lana had no choice in the matter concerning which parent would be responsible for her upbringing. She ended up with her mother. Gue had taken it upon himself to train the young lady in the arts of wielding a weapon and using the Force. The fact that Lana had accepted Gue's generous offer lost the young Lana favor in her father's eyes. This created a large rift betwixt father and daughter.

Things began to go wrong for Lana, emotionally, that is. Jen and Gue couldn't handle the child's strong-willed determined ways, or her rebellious nature to do what she felt was right or necessary according to the ways instilled by her father since her birth. She also had this uncanny knack for throwing it into Gue's face that he was not her father any time he tried to scold or punish her.

At the age of elven, Lana ran away and tried to return to her father's home. Of course, like most typical children of that age, she thought she knew what was best. She had begun to think that she was so close to knowing everything that she needed to know about life and survival. Little did Lana know at the time, she was nothing more than a spoiled, bratty child fast approaching puberty who really knew nothing at all.

She learned quickly just what it meant to lose favor with her father when she showed up on his doorstep asking ... no, expecting ... to be warmly embraced by his loving arms and welcomed back into his home. The events that unfolded shattered those expectations and woke the child up to the harsh realities of what it meant to be disowned.

Angry, scared, and now alone, Lana set off on her own; bound and determined to make of her life what she could. She'd prove them wrong, all of them. Her mother, her father, Lord Gue. She'd return one day to show them all that she just didn't need them to survive or to be happy.

But she needed to get far away from them, from the entire family. She would have to go some place they'd never think to look for her. So Lana went straight to the spaceport. It was so easy to get lost in the crowd, to blend in with some random person or couple and make herself look like she belonged with them as their child. This was how she managed to sneak her way into the hangars where she found an awaiting ship and tip-toed aboard.

The young child tucked herself away in the cargo hold and simply waited. Her plan was to stay there until the ship landed again, then sneak off and start life anew in some city that was foreign to her. Tired from her adventure, she fell asleep. Lana was wakened twelve hours later by the sound of crates being shuffled around and the grumblings of a strange man. He was startled at first to find a toe-headed child stowed away aboard his ship, but he coaxed her out of hiding and patted her on the head.

When asked where she came from and how she got aboard, the wee lass lied and fed him a load of crap. She was smart to do this, as she knew that if she ever gave her real name or any information about her family at all, she'd be killed if the Marzullo's ever caught wind of it. He introduced himself as Andre Mentiro and took her under his wing.

Just as there are sick people all over the galaxy, Andre included, he used trickery and played on the child's emotions, tugging at her heart strings, to weasel his way in. Lana was an exceptionally pretty child. Porcelain skin, large and beautiful innocent eyes, a small pretty pink mouth, and hair of spun gold. She was budding into womanhood, earlier than many girls her age, but not unheard of.

Andre spoke to her the way a man would speak to a woman he fancied. He always told her how pretty she was, how special she was, and how much he liked having her around. He did and said everything to make her feel like a queen. He worked his charm so that he could work his way into her head. And it worked.

The first three months of their travels together were the best that the girl could have imagined. He fed her good food, bought her nice clothes, spoiled her rotten. Of course he behaved himself when it was time to sleep since his ship only had one small cabin on it. He gave her the bed and he slept in the cockpit or on the floor somewhere.

Then he introduced her to the pleasures of alcohol. He told her how good it made people feel. He let her try all varieties. She showed distaste by wrinkling her nose or shaking her head while spitting the liquid out. She showed favor towards the ones she liked by eagerly asking for more while nodding her head and smiling.

One night he'd given her too much. Her cheeks flushed a gentle pink, her eyes looked glassy and she was acting a bit ... frisky. He pulled her close and cupped her face within his large palms and gazed into her eyes. He said he loved her, then he kissed her. At first she pulled back, but he wouldn't let her go. His grip upon her face tightened and he held her there, pressing his lips harder against hers, hungry for the lust to be returned.

He told her it was their special little secret as he silenced her cries with a hand over her mouth. He told her how much he loved her, how she'd get use to him and would love him one day, too. The first few times were painful, but eventually she succumbed and thought she had fallen in love with him.

She had come to trust him, so she told him of her heritage. She appeared to be exuberantly happy with Andre, a man who was twenty seven years of age. Lana wanted him to meet her father, to get her father's blessing over their union and to marry Andre. To appease the young girl, Andre agreed to meet her father and kissed her on the forehead.

Lana had only told him her secrets after Andre figured out that he'd impregnated the girl. He only wanted a plaything, someone he could take advantage of to sate his needs and twisted desires. Her pregnancy screwed up the plans he had for her. He had many rich clients who would have enjoyed her immensely but now ...

So it was that Andre slipped a sleep agent into Lana's drink and tucked her into bed. She wouldn't wake for at least twelve hours, which gave him enough time to do what he had to do. A part of him did care for the child, as became evident when he landed near the borders of Itala's estate and laid her out comfortably, then took off. When she woke, she was alone and didn't recognize at first where she was.

Lana had sat beneath the shade of a tree for many hours weeping. She was scared, pregnant, and now abandoned. But what frightened her most was having to face her father. Night fell before she approached the door, just as she had a little over a year ago.

Little Known Facts
  • Though Lana is a Marzullo and the eldest child of Itala and Jen Katrina, there is a side to her that very few have ever seen. A softer side; one that doesn't fit into the usual profile of Marzullo women.
  • Deep down, Lana longs to be a good mother to her daughter, Selene Marzullo. However, due to a lack of maturity and the young age at which Selene entered her life, Lana's failed miserably as a parent and positive role model.
  • Lana dreams of the day that she meets the man who will become her partner for life. She doesn't believe in divorce.
  • She also doesn't believe in the way the family "initiates" the potential spouse of any family member. Therefore, she doesn't participate in the ridicule or "testing" of his determination, strength, or forcing the man/woman to prove themselves as being "worthy".
  • On the exterior, Lana looks to be rather fragile and easily intimidated. Not so. She has a strong will, a sharp mind, and is not so easily intimidated. She chooses her fights well. She is also quite cunning, can be viciously deceptive, and is fiercely loyal.
