A Step in All Directions (Open)

    "Coronet..."

The words were read in a whisper in the run-down spaceport. Corellia's beauty of a city had only one crack to its gem and it was ironically the same place many first landed upon. The never-ending sounds of sparks flying, twist and turns could be heard coming from droids working to hopefully resurrect the piece of trash. A crowd bum rushed from the opening chambers as the shuttle touched down from its long travel through space.

Beings of all creeds could be seen fumbling about the spaceport, finishing up the feeble business at hand that prevented them from their step into what was Coronet. Lengthy talks with the port officials about paper work and difficulties with a few awkward languages were the normal here. However it didn't standout amongst the galaxy, for in the age of the Empire nothing was very easy.

"Finally here." These words weren't whispered. Instead a sense of relief and slight joy coated the youthful voice of a near human. In almost every aspect the light-skinned 6'0 figure could be considered human. The athletic built, long arms, mid-night black, short dread-lock hair. He was everything an average human was and more, with a touch of boyish charm in his features. However, his facially tattooed yellow markings stood out on his skin like an Ithorian in a military uniform. This near human wasn't just "near-human"...he was a Kiffar.

A few glances came his way, as he stood motionless at the shuttle exit, while many others angrily walked around him. For a moment he didn't recognize the dazed affect that had overcome him, but it became very much clear as a Snivvian let a curse word slide from his thick tongue. Twisting about, he smiled at the muttering snort-face. A single, long, skinny braid exposed itself as his eyes matched the large counterparts of the Snivvian species.

    "Slurd-u pas pas min."

The Snivvian smiled a toothy smile as the respectful near human apologized. It was rare anything even resembling a human would show any understanding of other culture and such showcase was highly honorable. All there was left to be done was a simple an understanding nod exchange and the situation was handled. The ways of the Jedi had done wonders to keep this fresh-face adolescent from a few fights.

"Now! Time to take a little tour."

A habit is a hard thing to simply throw to the wind. The rituals of impulse were common amongst the galaxies inhabitants, especially humans. There supposedly "feeble" minds couldn't process ways of disallowing bad or good habits without extensive practice. This was even true for Ridwan, as he played idle with his long Padawan braid. The length had grown with his knowledge since the day he had taken it as his own under his father's ceremonial watch. That was truly a day to remember, but extremely unlike the present. A contrast of unique beauties could be seen in his memories and vision.

Tall buildings were not an abundance when he sat motionless in a field for that symbolic hair stylizing. Instead of awkwardly shaped buildings, there was grass tredding for miles. Galanatos was a near opposite of Corellia in that respect and the contrast became even more evident in the description of cities. Such dignified architecture, holding the finest galactic metals and materials about the galaxy, would be extremely unlikely sight on such a "shaky" planet as Galanatos. Coronet was in no way homely for Ridwan, but still a spectacle to marvel over.

"What is that?" Ridwan puzzled, giving a nearby civilian a nudge. The youth exposed itself in Ridwan's eyes as his calm demeanor morphed into an attentive child. He pointed directly at a golden crested model, standing at the head of a sky-scraping complex.

"Oh, just another Core World Engineer project. They are just trying to expand past Coruscant and stuff...Good place, my family stayed there for the holidays."

    "Really?"

    "Yup, it's a great hotel."

An uneasy smile slowly formed itself onto Ridwan's face. In a matter of seconds, the sound of his bag and brown cloak could be heard rattling about and beating the concrete as the Hafling dashed toward the hotel doors for his stay.

Just as the young jedi reached the hotel, the doors flew open and smacked him full in the face and knocked him down to the ground. From the hotel emerged a tall, man with long dark hair and blood red eyes that had a sickly look to them, as if diseased. His attire was composed completely of the color black, and occasionally red. He also must have been at least seven feet tall.

Zereth was on Corellia for the simple reason of aiding his brethren in their take over, of sorts. Corellia has long been under the thumb of the sith order, but evidently the strength of the thumb had eased since it had been first placed. Now the sith wanted more then to re-strengthen their thumb, but to place a whole hand on the planet. So, logically, Zereth was doing what he did best; seek and destroy. He had been all over town for the last week, questioning any suspicious people and eliminating any rebellious pockets he found. He had just finished interrogating the hotel manager, who was related to a member of a rebel band that wanted to eliminate the sith's control of the planet.

As Zereth stepped out of the building the nearby pedestrians stopped in their tracks and look at the man with open mouths and wide eyes. A moment of silence went by before the citizens broke from their trance and fled the street by any means. The end result was in a minute the street was empty except for Zereth and Ridwan. The people where afraid, afraid of the power possessed by the sith, and more so then that; afraid that Zereth would find some reason to kill them in their sleep. And they should be afraid...

The sound of Ridwan rising to his feet caused Zereth to turn and see the young man for the first time. "Oh, forgive me. I did not see you there." He moved forward and helped Ridwan get up and then dusted him off with a brush of his hand, "How clumsy of me."

When he finally deemed Ridwan okay; Zereth stepped back and looked down at the youth with a quizical eye. "You are not from around here, are you?"

A grunt could be heard rumbling from Ridwan's clenched teeth as he hit the ground. It was at a murmur in comparison to the thud that echoed through his brain as the door hit, but it was still a sound to be reckoned with. Ridwan's bags dropped across the pavement, busting open with garbs and accessories. For a moment there was only silence to accompany the agony that swallowed the young Jedi's soul. The Padawan had met numerous pains through his course to Jedi status, but the element of surprise coupled with anguish left a bad taste that took far too long to spit out.

Finally dropping a spew of his aches, Ridwan gracefully motioned to his feet. Dropping his hand down upon his many exposed accessories, Ridwan grabbed up his unique straw-hat. Flinging it up, he watched happily as the hat dropped upon his head. Usually applause was heard from such an act, leaving the Padawan with a peculiar eye at the ovations absence.

Instead of a crowd, Ridwan saw a single man helping him dust the dirt that grabbed onto him during his fall. A diagnostic eye came down from the tall figure, leaving the hybrid Padawan with the only option of response.

"No. Actually, I'm from Galanatos..." He began. "Was heading into that hotel until I got hit."

Arsalis Kyrr clapped slowly at the young man's stunt. He had been only a block away when the door had flung open, leaving the boy sprawled on the ground. The boy had picked himself up rather quickly - good reflexes on his part. But the trick with the hat had been little short of impressive.

"Nice job, kid." He stepped back with one foot and bowed courtously, his flower-emblazoned robe flowing gracefully across the ground as he did so. "I am Arsalis Kyrr, the Life Alchemist. Pleased to meet you."

He, much like Zereth, was on a special mission on Corellia. Aside from a simple visit to his homeworld, Arsalis was on an important data collection mission for the Rebellion. Nothing of extreme importace - he was here only to get an inside view on the governing body of Corellia, to analyze the imperial operations here, and report anything he found - including any potential weakness - to the leaders of the Rebellion. Thus far, the operation seemed to be going well. He only had a few more key locations, as well as a few family members, to visit before heading home.

He rose from his bow, the elegance of his motion never failing. He glanced at the boy first, then at the man who had sent him sprawling. There was something disconcerting about the man's eyes, and Arsalis merely nodded, his long red hair falling softly across his shoulders. Looking up, he addressed both men cheerfully.

"What are your names, my friends?"

Zereth turned to face Arsalis, and an instant dislike ensued. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked down upon the red haired man. But what surprised Zereth was that the man, who called himself Arsalis Kyrr, didn't know who he was. Obviously the man was new to Corellia or at least had not been in Coronet in some time. For it seemed that everyone knew that Zereth was the long hand of the sith that kept Coronet in line. But this Arsalis, didn't seem to know this at all. He also called himself the "Life Alchemist" Which instantly made Zereth think Jedi. He would have to watch this man and see what his game was.

"Zereth Lancer," He replied, at last and then was silent.

The youth's eyebrows shifted like an astrobatic maneuver. It was certainly an odd sign of behavior on the part of the two newly acquainted, but Ridwan had been taught not to frown down on other's culture. However the two radiated with an aura of shroud and indifference. The two didn't know each other, but their supreme differences left the young Jedi to feel like a referee in a Teräs Käsi match.

It was a silly thought, but it made the curious expression on the hybrids face vanish to be replaced by a smile. Throwing his hand out between the two, he offered a handshake and a pleasant greeting.

"Name is Ridwan Vars...from Galanatos." A lull moment went and gone as his words dropped upon Zereth and Arsalis' ears.

"Let me get you two a...drink at the local cantina. Was hoping to check that place out anyways."
