Alright...something thats been on my mind for a while. We all start lots of threads. We finish very few of these. Nobody likes this trend, because a lot of good storylines die, and the forums become a graveyard for incomplete RPs that clutter the space that other RP's are using. Therefore, some kind of accountability and posting responsibility needs to be in effect.
I think that in order to start a thread, you need to finish a thread. Now, by its very nature, this can't be a concrete rule, as enforcing it would be a number-crunching nightmare. However, as a suggestion among peers, it could work wonders. Say Poster X is starting a thread, but Poster Y reminds him that he still has to post in a pre-existing thread. Precedence takes over, and Poster X works on the thread, eventually finishing it and adding a [Finished] tag to the title. After that, he can now go and do another thread, as can Poster Y. As I said, its not a rule, just a suggestion, kinda like the buddy system...something that we all look out for I suppose. I'm not coming to you as the least of the transgressors. I'm probably the single worst person on the forums about this, and I know I've peeved people off with it before. Just thought it might be a good way of working to get the thread finished numbers closer to the thread started numbers.
